Goals

OK - Just as with anything - the best place to start with maintaining your weight is knowing where you are and what direction your headed in. I know for me, the only way I can accomplish this is by setting some form of goal. The goal has to be realistic, reachable, and in a time-frame that will keep me motivated to stick with it. Whether it is with regards to how much exercise or what I am eating, if I don't set a goal and put it somewhere so I can see it daily, then it won't happen or I don't stick with it.

What about you?? Do you find this to be the case?? I know that since the new year has started the biggest thing that has gone out the window for me (for my health/weight) is my exercise regime. I have every excuse in the book....too busy, not enough time, foot hurts, etc... Which doesn't help keep my health in check (nor, make my doctor happy). So, thanks to this blog (and your encouragement I hope) I am going to do what I type. Starting this week, I am going to get back into my habit of setting a weekly and monthly health goal. Since exercise is what is lagging right now, I will set my goal to be:

30 minutes (aerobic workout), 5/7 days during this next week - a week is Sunday to Sunday to me, location - at my gym (I say this because I know sometimes when I go outdoors without a buddy, I don't push myself as hard as I do in the gym).

So, there's my goal for this week. What about you?? Are you eating too much junk food?? Not getting enough exercise?? Not getting in those fruits/vegetables?? Leave me a message and tell me what kind of healthful goals you set for yourself and why....

Also, for fun and to help anyone that has a hard time making there own "goal worksheet," here is a really nice link that has three different goal worksheets that I find interesting and helpful: http://specialed.about.com/od/worksheets/ss/goalsetting.htm

Let me know what you think about them, or if you have your own goal sheet form. Looking forward to hearing from you....
